Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) contracts with the Health Promotion Consulting Group to update a best practices review of nutrition interventions conducted by HPCG in 2000, and to expand the review to include best practices for physical activity interventions for cancer and chronic disease prevention..  PICEPS is asked to assist with the review.

Canadian Partnership Against Cancer contracts with PICEPS Consultants, Inc. to help plan, implement and report on a workshop to develop guidelines for synoptic reporting tools in cancer surgery and pathology.

PICEPS completes and submits report on the evaluation of the Canadian Network of Smokers' Helplines.

Canadian Network of Smokers' Helpline contracts with PICEPS Consultants, Inc. to evaluate its 2006 program experience.

Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN) contracts with the Health Promotion Consulting Group to review its community-based Model for National Collaboration and create plain language tools to increase awareness and use of the Model by those working in breast cancer, cancer and other health care sectors.  PICEPS is requested to assist with the evaluation of the model.

In collaboration with Bridgesite Clinical Research, Inc., Headminder  and Dr Timothy Moore of Mid-Ohio Oncology/Hematology, Inc ., Dr Fred Ashbury, President of PICEPS Consultants, Inc. is co-principal investigator with Dr Moore on a pilot project in which cancer patients are randomized to receive an intervention to ameliorate the effects of chemotherapy on cognition.

Varian Medical Systems, Inc., world leader in the design and manufacture of integrated systems and software to deliver radiation therapy acquires the oncology assets of OpTx Corporation and assumes the contract of PICEPS Consultants, Inc. to develop, implement and monitor oncology data licence agreements.

A paper entitled, "A model of collaborative health care delivery between chiropractors and physicians in primary care reform", was presented at the Association of Chiropractic Colleges-Research Agenda Conference, "Best Practices", in Las Vegas, Nevada by Drs S Mior, J Barnsley, F Ashbury, H Boon, R Haig and H Abeygunawardena.

The Division of Preventive Oncology, Cancer Care Ontario, contracts with PICEPS Consultants, Inc. to publish reports of the Ontario Nutrition and Cancer Prevention Survey.

The Canadian Health Network (Health Canada) contracts PICEPS Consultants, Inc. to evaluate the CHN and identify recommendations for ongoing evaluation of the network.

Dr Peter Raich is participating as a co-investigator on a study funded by the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, entitled, "Return to work in cancer survivors: a pilot study".  The purpose of this project is to assess adult cancer survivors for domains that are salient to their decision to return to work and to work outcomes.

Dr Peter Raich receives a five-year grant from the National Institutes of Health, National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Program (NSABP).  The goal of this grant is to guide and develop cancer control clinical trial activities of the NASBP cooperative group.  Dr Raich is Chair of this newly formed "Cancer Control Committee," charged to developand implement cancer control clinical trials appropriate for the membership of NSABP.

Dr Peter Raich is a co-investigator on a study funded by the Department of Defense (US) to develop an interactive CD-ROM intervention for prostate cancer screening and test its effectiveness in a large, group-model HMO.

Pan American Health Organization of the World Health Organization contracts PICEPS Consultants, Inc. to identify key world experts in cancer screening and to develop and facilitate a workshop in which these experts review, discuss and advise on a strategy for the design and implementation of cervical cancer screening information systems in developing countries.
